  22. CapsLight requires any Macintosh or compatible, either 680x0 or PowerPC, with System 7.0 or later.
  23. It is actually intended for PowerBook users, but will work on any Macintosh model.

  25. Please remember that CapsLight is shareware. If you use it often you should register your copy. See the file “How Do I Register?” for information on how to register.

  27. What is CapsLight?
  28. CapsLight is a control panel for users whose keyboards don’t have a locking caps lock key or a caps lock light. All CapsLight does is display an icon in the menubar indicating whether caps lock is on or off. That’s all, but it may, I hope, be useful to you. Perhaps you will find it useful even if you do have a normal keyboard but would like an onscreen indication of the caps lock status?

  30. Installation
  31. Simply drag the appropriate control panel for your MacOS version onto your System Folder, let it be placed in the Control Panels folder, and restart.

  33. Using CapsLight
  34. When CapsLight is installed, it displays an arrow icon in the menubar whenever the caps lock key is engaged.

  36. You can choose whether to have the icon displayed in the left or right hand corner of the menubar, or else turn it off altogether. To do this, open the CapsLight control panel and select the radio button for your chosen location.

  38. Shareware
  39. CapsLight is shareware, meaning that if you use it and find it helpful to you, you should register for a small fee.
  40. CapsLight has no disabled features or “Give me your money” notices, so the onus is entirely on you, the user, to register. Please do.

  43. - you are informed when new versions are released

  46. I believe that once you have registered, you should not have to pay again— I will never ask for top-up fees when new versions are released.
